Bio

After earning a bachelor’s degree in environmental health from Rutgers University, Dr. Theresa Long received a Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Virginia. She is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as a certified diabetes educator by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.

Long has taught in nursing programs for 18 years, both undergraduate and graduate level. In addition, she maintained a family practice for almost 20 years on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and joined Regent University in 2022.

Originally from New Jersey, Long now lives on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is married with eight children and nine grandchildren. Her interests include genealogy and history.
