Casey J

February 5, 2016

Casey J

Over the course of a few months, a laid-back elementary school teacher named Casey J has graduated from the classroom to the Top Ten of three different Billboard Magazine sales or airplay charts with her powerful debut radio single “Fill Me Up” (Marquis Boone/Tyscot Records). The uplifting praise and worship anthem anchors the 28-year old vocalist’s forthcoming CD “The Truth” (Marquis Boone Enterprises/Tyscot Records) that hit stores and online platforms everywhere on April 21, 2015.

Casey first surfaced as one quarter of the gospel girl group 4LOVE that was featured on The Brown Boyz’ Top 30 hit “Better Dayz” in the spring of 2012. Praise has been an essential part of Casey J’s life from the start. Both her mother and grandmother Dorothy Mae sang in a gospel choir in Atlanta, Georgia.

At the age of 12, she joined the Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde and sang with them until she enrolled at the University of Georgia. Later, she began teaching and sang with 4Love before Marquis Boone launched her solo career.

“Fill Me Up is a flashback of the true worship experience I remember having during church in my grandmother’s basement,” says Casey. “The sound isn’t a traditional church sound – it’s worship in its purest form.” The most important aspect of her life right now is the ministry itself. “People and worship are my heart,” she adds. “I want the environment of my performances to be about the worship and not so much about me personally or my artistic persona.”

John Mark McMillan

January 16, 2015

John Mark McMillan

John Mark McMillan began his career nearly a decade ago. A singer-songwriter as interested in musical exploration as lyrical exploration, McMillan carved his own path from the outset. With an ear for melody and a poet’s eye for metaphor, no topic was off-limits: death and love; isolation and exultation; restlessness and silence. McMillan carries an ongoing dialogue with God, ever-wrestling for some kind of blessing and usually at volumes most suited for rock clubs. This past spring, McMillan released “Borderland,” his fourth studio album and arguably his finest. The album debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Christian and Gospel chart, held a Top 15 slot in the iTunes Overall Albums and hit No. 41 on Billboard’s Top 200. “Future / Past” was nominated for a GMA Dove Award’s “Worship Song of the Year” and RELEVANT Magazine listed “Borderland” as one of “The Best 10 Albums of 2014 So Far.” This fall, McMillan released “The Borderland Sessions,” a compilation of intimate, alternate takes of his latest LP. Once again, the album shot straight to No. 1 on the iTunes Christian and Gospel chart.

All Sons and Daughters

March 23, 2015

All Sons and Daughters

All Sons & Daughters’ Leslie Jordan and David Leonard create modern folk music that connects broken people with their God. Worship leaders at Journey Church in Franklin, Tennessee, their critically acclaimed EPs, “Brokenness Aside,” “Reason To Sing” and “The Longing,” along with their full length albums, “Season One” and “Live” bear witness to the power of worship by the people, for the people and of the people. In the truest sense, the mesmerizing, soul-baring lyrics and acoustic styling of this talented duo are beginning to make an impact—inside and outside the church. In May of 2014, All Sons & Daughters released a self-titled studio album that turns the page on a new chapter for the duo, a new season of leaning into their own musical and lyrical instincts. All Sons & Daughters takes great care to make music that meets people where they are, to find the pulse of the people in the cities where they play, and to serve and resource musicians and worship leaders. As always, their song charts are free online, and they continue to take advantage of any opportunity to start new conversations about what worship might look like when approached from an authentic place—Worship as a true reflection of the heart, however fragmented, however weak, however strong.
