M.A. in Human Services – Life Coaching

Maximize Human Potential with a Master’s in Human Services – Life Coaching.

Does helping others identify, pursue and achieve life goals light a fire in you? Through the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Human Services – Life Coaching, you can prepare to work with others in personal and motivational contexts. This non-licensure life coaching online concentration focuses on Christian coaching with supervised field experience including an advanced coaching practicum. Courses are taught using a combination of real-time interaction with professors, small-group projects, podcast lectures, and asynchronous chat room discussions.

HSC 525Advanced Counseling Skills & Techniques3
Continuing experiential application of significant personality theories and practice of more advanced counseling skills. Overview of the techniques and practices derived from the major psychotherapeutic systems relevant to these more advanced skills. Emphasis on the demonstration, modeling, practice and evaluation of these core skills and techniques. Prerequisite: HSC 524. Cross-listed with MHPS 625.
HSC 526Life Coaching3
Introduces the student to the field of life coaching according to the International Coaching Federation’s core competencies which focus on providing a foundation for coaching, co-creating the relationship, communicating effectively, and cultivating client learning and growth. Cross-listed with MHPS 626.
HSC 580Coaching Practicum3
A supervised field experience in coaching. Students must obtain at least 50 hours of supervised experience. In addition to supervision at the pre-approved site, students also complete a weekly seminar offered by program faculty. The coaching field experience may address a wide range of life issues and service recipients. Prerequisite: HSC 526. Cross-listed with MHPS 680. Pass/No Pass.
HSC 581Advanced Coaching Practicum3
Supervised field experience in coaching. Students obtain at least 80 hours of supervised experience at the pre-approved site. Students also complete a weekly seminar offered by program faculty. The coaching field experience may address a wide range of life issues and service recipients. Prerequisite: HSC 580. Cross- listed with MHPS 681. Pass/No Pass.

All students are expected to check-in for the semester two weeks before the session start date. Students should apply, be accepted, enroll in their first courses, and confirm a plan to pay for their courses prior to this date.

Step 2: Submit Your Unofficial Transcripts

Submit your unofficial transcripts to regent.edu/items.

Upon submitting your application, you will receive an email requesting authorization for Regent University to obtain your official transcripts from your U.S. degree-granting institution. International transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES, AACRAO or NAFSA approved agency.

Step 3: Submit Your Government-Issued ID

To ensure academic integrity, Regent University requires a copy of a government-issued ID. Please submit a scanned copy or photograph of it to regent.edu/items.
