Regent University Now Offers M.S. in General Psychology
Regent University School of Psychology & Counseling (SPC) is accepting applications for its brand-new M.S. in General Psychology program, to launch in the Fall 2015 term.
The 39 credit hour program is offered entirely online and can be completed in as little as 18 months.
“We hope that with this program, Regent University students will be able to influence the non-clinical areas of Christian psychology,” said Dr. William Hathaway, SPC dean and program director for the new degree program. “There are only a handful of Christian universities that are APA-accredited in psychology, and Regent’s is a program of influence.”
The graduate-level program is offered to both traditional and adult learners who are seeking professional development in the career field of human services.
“The M.S. program is entirely online, and it can connect with people who are already in various life-roles,” said Hathaway on the flexibility of the new program.
He explained that studying the behavioral and psychological habits of individuals can enhance careers for students who seek employment in the fields of government, business or education.
“Probation officers, human resources employees, and people in lay counseling positions like pastors could all benefit from studying general psychology,” said Hathaway. “The program will be a stepping-stone within a student’s existing career path or for those who plan to pursue their doctorate in the psychology field.”
