VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (February 06, 2019) – Regent University has named former North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts Director, Judge Marion R. Warren, as its new School of Law senior associate dean, effective March 1, 2019. Dr. M. G. “Pat” Robertson, CEO and chancellor of Regent University made the announcement today.
Warren joins N.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Martin, who was named dean of the School of Law on January 25, 2019 and will also begin his new role on March 1.
“We are thrilled that Judge Warren is joining Chief Justice Mark Martin in this critical role of senior associate dean,” said Robertson. “As the director, Judge Warren worked alongside Chief Justice Mark Martin to transform the North Carolina court system. His legal and operational expertise is extraordinary. Having these two distinguished, proven leaders together is a historic opportunity for Regent as they prepare the next generation of legal leaders in our country.”
“I can think of no one better than Judge Warren to help ensure that our students are purpose-driven and practice ready,” stated Chief Justice Martin. “His exceptional contributions to enhancing the quality of justice, including generational improvements to the N.C. juvenile justice and information technology systems, will be a lasting legacy.”
As director of the N.C. Warren earned both his Juris Doctor (1991) and Bachelor of Business Administration (1998) from Campbell University.
“I am honored and humbled to be selected as the senior associate dean for Regent University School of Law,” Warren stated. “I am excited about partnering with Chief Justice Martin and the entire law school community to help mentor and train the next generation of our nation’s legal leaders.”
“Judge Warren is an established leader who brings more than 25 years of frontline experience to an important operational role,” stated Dr. Gerson Moreno-Riano, executive vice president for Academic Affairs. “He will expose our law students to the complexities of our judicial system and what it means to serve in today’s legal environment.
