Regent Students Prep for Cybersecurity Competition
In February, students from Regent University will compete in the first rounds of the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (MACCDC).
On Monday, January 22, the students spent time preparing for the competition on Regent’s state-of-the-art Cyber Range, installed during the fall of last year. They fielded various scenarios and simulations the instructors and moderators threw their way, and had to work in a professional manner while handling issues ranging from server shutdowns to customer service calls, sometimes simultaneously.
If the students qualify, they’ll compete in the regional finals held March 15–17. MACCDC is an annual competition held specifically for college students, and takes places all over the nation, culminating in a national final.
