Regent Night of Worship to Feature Artists All Sons and Daughters
When it comes to its students, Regent University’s denominational representation is diverse. And when those different musical styles come together among several hundred members of the Hampton Roads community in one voice of worship, the results are astonishing.
This is the impact of Regent’s Night of Worship (NOW) events. Each month, popular worship recording artists lead Regent and friends of the community in a time of praise and fellowship.
On Monday, March 23, Regent’s NOW will feature artists All Sons and Daughters at 8 p.m. in the University Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
Last month, 15 local churches participated in the first-ever NOW church collective, meshing the sounds of diverse voices and leaders for one worshipful event, unlike any participants had been a part of before.
“Nights of Worship are always an incredible time of corporate worship; however, this one was different,” said Jason Peaks, director of Regent’s Campus Ministries. “There was a tremendous energy from the unity that was exhibited by the body.”
Peaks said that with the collection of this many churches coming together for the purpose of worship there was “no room for ego,” only room for bringing “glory of the living God.”
“It’s so important, especially in the time we’re living in, that Christians in the body of Christ come together to be the Church for our nation,” said Joy Windham, worship leader at Rock Church in Virginia Beach.
Windham also commented that this was the first time she’d ever participated in a worship collective with other local churches. According to her, it was a great time of encouragement and support for other worship leaders.
“It was amazing to see worship leaders from churches around the area unified to worship the Lord under one roof,” said Windham. “It was an awesome night of surrendered worship we were able to have together. And it was cool to experience that outside of our own church’s four walls.”
