New Program Helps A.A.S. Grads Earn B.A.S. Quickly
A new program that shortens the path to a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree for those who already hold an Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.) is now available through Regent University’s highly ranked online learning platform, as well as on campus.
The new B.A.S. in Management & Leadership is a highly specialized technical degree that maximizes transfer credits. It aims to teach the fundamentals of business and accounting, marketing and management to its students. The degree program targets graduates of regionally accredited community colleges including Community College of the Air Force.
“Supported by high-quality course work and a strong Christian foundation, students will gain tools to help improve their quality of life and make a real difference as a leader in their fields,” said Michael Pregizter, College of Arts & Sciences associate dean of instruction.
Regent will accept up to 60 A.A.S. transfer credits and offer 30 general education credits and 30 management & leadership credits needed to complete the B.A.S degree. The program aims to equip students for careers as supervisors or managers, project managers, human resources coordinators, administrative and executive assistants, ministry leaders or to advance in military rank.
Applicants for the new program are enrolling now to begin in the fall semester. Courses will be available in eight-week sessions. Regent plans to expand the new degree program to cover additional concentrations, including criminal justice and information technology systems.
