Dr. William L. Hathaway Named Provost of Regent University
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Apr. 23, 2024) – On Saturday, the Regent University Board of Trustees voted to appoint Dr. William L. Hathaway as Provost of Regent University. Hathaway immediately assumed the position after relinquishing his post as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Regent.

As Provost, Dr. Hathaway will continue to oversee Regent University academics, colleges and schools, program development, and accreditation and assessment initiatives.

I consider it a privilege to have his confidence and will continue to be a champion for Regent’s world-changing mission.”
Hathaway completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at Bowling Green State University and a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology with Russell Barkley at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center ADHD clinic. He served seven years as an Air Force psychologist before joining the Christian psychology program at Regent University.
Dr. Hathaway characterizes Regent as “the ideal community of Christian scholars in which he can continue to pursue his passion for lifelong learning and Christian service.”
