Center for Global Missions to Host Annual Trip to Ghana
Regent University students don’t have to wait until they receive their diplomas before they start chipping away at making a difference in the world.
The School of Divinity’s (DIV) Center for Global Missions (CGM) will host its annual trip to Ghana June 15-27, 2015.
The trip is open to Regent students, alumni and friends of the community looking for a service opportunity that spreads the love of Christ to the “unreached people groups” in a different cultural context.

“Last year 98 Muslim believers came to Christ in one service and it was just incredible for those involved to see their own faiths strengthened,” said Dr. Clifton Clarke, associate DIV professor and CGM director. “But it also gave students a chance to use their skills.”
Trip attendees will have the opportunity to serve and train church leaders, host special events for empowering female leaders as well as work in youth ministry within foster homes and orphanages.
“We want to expose our students to this sort of ministry while living in a completely different part of the world,” said Clarke.
As a longtime veteran of Center-led mission trips, Clarke’s heartstrings are tied to a particular facet of the trip: returning to a small rural school “rejuvenated” by the yearly efforts of CGM mission efforts.
“We’re responsible for it,” said Clarke. “It’s our job to keep it going.”
Ultimately Clarke’s responsibilities tie back to the global Church as a whole. He believes that to infuse the church with excited, motivated and yearning members of the Body is the best service, as well as the greatest promise he makes to those looking for a missions opportunity this summer.
“It always falls back into their churches,” said Clarke. “They’ll come back energized and wanting to do more. It makes all the difference.”
