Mary Sanderfer Stull, Ph.D.

Bio

Dr. Mary Sanderfer Stull is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Virginia and has clinical experience working with individuals, couples and families. She studied undergraduate psychology at the University of Louisville, earned her master’s degree in counseling at Regent University, and completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision at Old Dominion University. In addition to counseling endeavors, she earned her certification as a nationally certified emergency medical technician and volunteered with the Kempsville Rescue Squad.

As a scientist-practitioner, Sanderfer Stull has worked in a variety of clinical settings in the behavioral health field, to include outpatient, day treatment, residential, alternative school, EAP, and other community agencies. She has maintained several leadership positions in the community, serving as a supervisor, clinical director, and behavioral health advisor. As children and military families have been her primary focus, she enjoys working with a variety of clinical populations.

Sanderfer Stull’s areas of research interest include children and adolescents, mental and physical health, addiction, and military related topics. Inside the classroom, she loves to be creative and facilitate practical learning. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys Christian discipleship, spending time with family and friends, physical fitness and traveling.
