Regent University Receives High Marks in Coastal Virginia Magazine’s Annual Survey Awards
Last week, Costal Virginia Magazine released its annual survey in which readers vote on their top choices for restaurants, notable businesses and educational institutions in Hampton Roads.
Following suit from last year, the survey — widely recognized in the surrounding community — named Regent University for the “Overall Gold” award in the “Best of Higher Education” category.
Regent’s Performing Arts Center also received an “Overall Gold” award.
“The award reflects the wide range of excellent programming we offer from our popular five-show Theatre Season to our annual Christmas Choir Concert to regular concerts by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra,” said senior associate dean for Regent’s College of Arts & Sciences, Dr. Peter Fraser. “It also speaks to the quality of Regent University overall and our exceptional academic programs.”
Students from Regent’s film program have won more than 475 major festival awards.
What’s more, CBN received the “Overall Gold” award in the “Local Festival/Event” for its inaugural Christmas Village.
The Founders Inn & Spa and the Swan Terrace restaurant, both part of the Regent and CBN community, also received high marks in the survey, receiving 18 awards total — six overall gold awards, nine Southside gold awards and three Southside silver awards.
The rankings follow suit to those of last year’s survey.
“Receiving these awards from our Coastal Virginia community fills us with great joy,” said Regent’s School of Business & Leadership Dean, Dr. Doris Gomez. “These recognitions demonstrate not only the excellence of Regent University, CBN and the Founders Inn but just how much we seek to serve our beloved community.”
