Regent University Closing at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 11
Due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Florence, Regent University operations will close at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11 and will re-open no earlier than Monday, September 17.
All on-campus activities and events are canceled.
As Regent’s campus and surrounding areas prepare for severe winds, possible flooding due to prolonged rains, and power outages, all students living in on-campus housing are strongly encouraged to evacuate the Hampton Roads area by no later than Wednesday, September 12.
Students without vehicles or with no other means of lodging will be required to relocate to the Founders Inn and Spa on Regent’s campus (5641 Indian River Road Virginia Beach, Virginia 23464). Students should bring pillows, blankets, toiletries, non-perishable snacks, necessary medications, clothing and valuables during their temporary relocation.
Student relocation to Founders Inn will occur no later than 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 13. If students or concerned parents have specific questions about the relocation process, please call 757.352.4890.
Updates regarding Regent University business operations and classes will be available at regent.edu, through the RegentAlert system, Regent’s Emergency Weather Hotline (757.352.4777) and Regent’s social media sites (Facebook, Twitter).

Hurricane Preparations for university office computer equipment and Help Desk hours
As a precaution against any potential storm-related water damage, please turn off office computers, monitors, and printers. Also switch off computer equipment surge protectors that are within easy reach. The few employees on campus with UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) battery backups should also turn those off using the power button on the UPS. The Information Technology Help Desk will be closed Friday thru Sunday and will operate on a reduced schedule Tuesday thru Thursday. 24/7 Blackboard Support will continue to be available by calling the Help Desk line and selecting the Blackboard Support option.
