Regent’s Office of Alumni Relations & Special Events Hold a “24-Hour Challenge” Fundraiser
Regent University’s Office of Alumni Relations & Special Events are ramping up efforts to raise funds for Regent’s budding athletic program — one dessert at a time.
Their fundraising campaign, dubbed the “24-Hour Challenge,” starts Wednesday, October 11. Student athletes will work alongside the Office of Alumni Relations & Special Events to sell soda and ice-cream floats and serve them at the main campus fountain.
Their fundraising target is $35,000, which will be matched by an alumni donor to make a sum total of $70,000. The proceeds will go toward a 15-passenger van, equipment, and scholarships.
Donors can also give online. Those who do so will be entered to win Royals paraphernalia, including hats, jackets, and more.
“I am very thankful that the 24-Hour Regent Royals Challenge gives the entire Regent community, family and friends the opportunity to support and encourage our Royals athletes,” said Roger Cheeks, Regent’s Director of Athletics and NCCAA South Region Assistant Coordinator.
“The Office of Alumni Relations is excited to spearhead our second Day of Giving Challenge,” said director of Alumni Relations, Melissa Fuquay. “This year’s campaign is dedicated to raising support for Regent University athletics. We hope the $70,000 raised will help provide some of the immediate needs for a successful sports program at Regent.”
