Regent Hosts Women Veterans Summer Leadership Retreat
Women Vets Rock, in partnership with Regent University’s Office of Military & Veterans Affairs, is holding its annual Summer Leadership Retreat June 17-19 on Regent’s Virginia Beach campus.
“I am extremely excited to attend the WVR Summer Leadership Retreat!” said LaTonya Slade, VA certifying official for Regent’s Enrollment Management. “I feel that it is critical for every veteran, especially women, to be aware of the resources and civic leadership opportunities that can ultimately lead them to be positive change agents in the community.”
The event is designed for women associated with the military – veterans, active duty, reservists and also military spouses, widows and moms, and is open to anyone interested in gaining leadership skills.
“As a country, we need to do more to meet the needs of our transitioning female veterans. The Summer Leadership Retreat is an amazing resource to connect, support and empower our women veterans,” said Jose Roman, assistant director of Regent’s Office of Military & Veterans Affairs.
The retreat features a Friday Night Powerhouse Kickoff event with Paula White – pastor, teacher, author, international evangelist and popular TV personality. Tickets are available for Friday night only, Saturday only and for the entire conference.
The dynamic weekend retreat offers skills building forums; leadership, entrepreneurship and media training summits; and networking to expand business and career opportunities. Women Vets Rock is sponsored by The Healthy Caregivers Foundation.
