Regent University Donor Funded Scholarships
Regent is able to offer a number of funded scholarships to graduate, professional or doctoral students through the generosity of university donors. These awards are highly selective and depend on the student meeting specific criteria. The number of awards is limited and varies each year. Current and accepted incoming Regent University students who meet the qualifications may apply for a funded scholarship. A sampling of funded awards is available for review below; however, this is not an exhaustive list.

The Azusa Street Scholarship fund was established to commemorate the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles, California from 1906-1909. The leading figure in the revival was the Reverend William J. Seymour, an African-American Baptist minister. These scholarships are specifically designated for those who are called to serve the African-American community in the United States. The scholarship is 100% of tuition costs, plus a book stipend of up to $300 per term.
The Chancellor, Dr. Pat Robertson, in memory of the late Fred W. Beazley, established the Beazley Scholarship fund in April 1984. Mr. Beazley was a leading businessman in the Tidewater area and significant supporter of Dr. Robertson’s early ministry. The scholarship criteria emphasize academic merit and residency history. First consideration is given to applicants from the Tidewater region of Virginia who have excellent academic histories, and otherwise meet the criteria. However, students with excellent academic histories not from the Tidewater region of Virginia are also encouraged to apply in the event there are not enough suitable applicants from Tidewater for the award. The scholarship is 100% of tuition costs, plus a book stipend of up to $300 per term.
Mr. William J. Dooner generously established this scholarship to assist Regent University students who have a Roman Catholic background in meeting the cost of their education. Recipients are selected on the extent of their involvement in the Roman Catholic Church and their academic performance, although preference is given to those candidates currently active in the Roman Catholic Church. The scholarship is 50% of tuition costs.
Friends of the University, in memory of Luther J. Stallings, Jr. and Elizabeth A. Stallings, generously fund this scholarship with annual donations. The donors established this scholarship to assist students who are “born-again, pursuing a conscientious relationship with God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit.” Their goal is to assist Regent students in meeting tuition costs. Virginia domiciliary residence is preferred for at least half of the scholarships awarded. There is also intent to provide at least one of the awards to an international student. Need is a consideration, as derived from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The dollar amount of the awards is limited and varies each year depending upon the availability of funds.
A Regent University alumnus, who is quadriplegic, established the John G. C. Miller Scholarship fund to honor her father. The goal of this scholarship is to assist other Regent students who have physical disabilities in meeting the tuition costs of attending Regent University. The amount of the scholarship varies by year. Students applying for this award must ensure their physical disability is registered with the Office of Disability Services (757.352.4485) by the scholarship deadline.
The Clarence L. Hulford Scholarship was established to provide tuition assistance to emerging Christian leaders with strong leadership potential who have an outstanding academic track record from countries in the regions of eastern and southeast Asia.
