Derek Ross, D.Min.

Bio

Dr. Derek Ross has been appointed part-time assistant professor for the Regent University School of Divinity, beginning January 1, 2024. Dr. Ross was licensed as a minister in 1975. He served as a Naval Chaplain with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard. He honorably retired from the U.S. Navy in 2010 with the rank of Commander. He has vast experience in pastoral leadership and clinical ministry in both military and civilian settings. He has also been a church planter in the U.S., Italy, and Japan. In 2021, he was conferred the honor of Chaplain Emeritus by the International Council of Community Churches, in which he is currently ordained. Dr. Ross holds a B.A. from Marshall University, an M.Div. from Howard University, a Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from Wesley Theological Seminary.
